I didn’t know what to expect from this band until I heard them. It is enjoyable from start to finish having a great balance of calm and aggressiveness, with a vast variety of great riffs that actually putted me in “air-guitar mode” at some points, a great drum and vocal lines, and the bass! That I could actually hear in this album which is awesome. Along all the tracks (except the last one), the band uses an acoustic guitar to accompany the disorted melodies. I think that’s one of the keypoints of this record because its sounds stands out really well fitting perfectly in all the songs.
This record is fantastic! The first three tracks are mere excellence to show-off the band’s sound, with some passages in the songs with acoustic and clean guitar, that is followed by the fourth track that is an instrumental, an acoustic and great passageway to what’s to come in the fifth song, “Niech Moje Słowa Będą Ogniem”, a fast phased heavy song where the drums stands out on this one, with some great fillings and the vocals making it sound brutal.
“Powrót” is the sixth track that it sounds like a heavy-ballad that I really enjoyed. It sounds kinda dark and mysterious. It builds up the atmosphere perfectly with the acoustic guitar in company of the disorted guitar doing lead duties. Awesome song.
The seventh song sounds like a continuation of Powrót. It has a calm vibe but sounds heavier than the previous one, putting in some more double pedal work in it, some low-phased parts, and the guitar player showcasing his skills with an awesome guitar solo with which the track ends, using a variety of techniques. And then, the final track it’s based on a clean electric guitar that sounds different than the previous ones. Just the lead guitar, a rhythm one, some vocals here and there, and some backround sounds that fits really well to the atmosphere created in this one. An odd and interesting way to end an album. Great ending!
It’s a nice record! The only bad thing for me it’s that I did not understood any of the lyrics because they are in polish, their natural language, and I couldn’t translate them either haha, but anyway.
Highly recommended for those looking for some different sounds in the black metal genre.. you will not regret it!
