Hails my friends,
today I have something very underground for You. It's a very young one man project by the Croatian musician
known as Void (ex-Mentalny Kolaps, ex-Seppuku Syndrome). And today I'll write a bitt about Abyss Zero - Suffocation EP
Tracklis:
1. Last Dance Of The Martyr
2. Without Chemicals
3. Blank Slate
4. Dream Sequence Dream
Now to the release; first of all I'd like to say that the artwork is amazing it's really preparing You for what You'll get in the next 20+ minutes. The ep starts of beautiful but yet very dark and haunting. I'll even go as far to say hypnotising; one constantly repeating rythm and all the cautiously places sounds reminded me on old black metal bands that used to play
like one or two riffs throughout a whole song, and by just adding some minor background noises they were able to send your mind far away.

I'd say it's the
same with this release; maybe the repetition isn't that extreme and there's much more variety in a song and throughout the whole album in general. What I really like about this ep is that You have the feeling that the artist behind it really put thought in every note that's played. I mean, you can really hear that he's 100% aware of what's happening and that he's totaly in control of all this dreamlike darkness.
It probably sounds weird when I say this like that. But if You're familiar with dark ambient, industrial or experimental music in general You know that sometimes it sounds like the artist isn't really knowing what he does, and that he isn't really putting himself into it. But that's not the case here. While listening to this release especially "Black slate" I somehow thought
about "Das Boot" a movie from 1981; I really could see myself in a very smal, and dark submarine deep under water. No people, no light ony I, darkness and the water around.
What's left to say in my opinion the strongest part of this album is the strong atmosphere that manages to show the two sites of darkness the beautiful and evil one. One thing that I'd love this release to have would be, more melodies like on the song "Without Chemicals". But honestly when I look at it as a debut of a one man project I'm very sure that the full album or better say the following releases will create something huge.
So, if You're into industrial, dark ambient, noise and similar don't miss your chance and take a listen.
